Independent Venue Week (IVW) has been a significant event for over a decade, celebrating venues and artists across the country with a week-long series of events.

Sybil Bell, along with her team and volunteers, plays a crucial role in making these events possible, offering opportunities for people to get involved each year.

IVW provides exposure for both musicians and venues, aiding their growth and supporting local music scenes.

In my view, holding IVW in January is an excellent way to rejuvenate the live music scene, especially during a time when many are participating in dry January and the weather is harsh. IVW motivates people to leave their homes and enjoy live music, creating excitement and sustaining the passion for music!

Hull is particularly fortunate to have numerous venues and artists participating, along with strong venues and talented staff working together to deliver outstanding performances.

I have been fortunate to work with Independent Venue Week for the second consecutive year, covering various venues. This year, I had the opportunity to work at different venues, which not only contributed to my personal achievements but also supported this great cause and helped enhance these venues. IVW is a fantastic way to connect with new people and collaborate with old friends you might not have seen in a while.

With events filled with smiles, fun, and an all-around great atmosphere, IVW offers the chance to work closely within the music industry.
