With one of Hulls longest running grassroots venue which holds many promising gigs. I attended one of the longest running open mics within Hull.
Instantly been welcomed with open arms from both the sound man Phill Wilson and manager and bar tender Carlos Macklin. Both working hard to provide a warm and welcoming space for all ages , genders. The Adelphi Club always create a safe place for every individual every single week.
Open Mic was once created at the club ,to a support crowd to every single act and a place full of new faces to Adelphi but also familiar . New and old music from original to covers there will always be at least one act that would be sure to impress you. This event usually takes place on a Monday night around 8pm rarely missing a Monday ( occasionally the event is not on due to a different event however this would be stated well in advance on there websites as well as social medias)
Open mics being a great way to share what you love doing whether you play an instrument, sing or just souly enjoy music or want to be involved in such a welcoming community , this event allows you to discover new types of music as well as different people with different personality throughout the city.
While I sit here with a coffee in my hand , the lights dimmed I enjoy the melodic sounds of acoustic acts and some electronic music as well as many different acts all ranged at different levels of music and age. Each act being unique to itself. I even had a chance to step onto the stage myself to test out some of my new material which I revised a large amount of support with. Performing in open mics has given me a large amount of exposure and confidence for gigging on my own and I don't think I would ever be able to gig now like I do if it wasn't for events such as open mics.

I would like to say I like to show up as regularly as I can to the legendary Adelphi Club open mics and each time they blow me away and I go away with hearing a new song , artist and much more.
The Adelphi open mic is the perfect way to express yourself and to be around like minded people.
Clive the dog sat in the back of the club the audience truly is a diverse welcome community the love that he provided throughout the night for sure put a smile on everyone's face he defiantly wasn't shy to give you a cuddle or two while you sat watching the acts fro Clive isn't always there but it is always joyful when you see him.
Hull has to offer many different open mics around the city which is what I personally believe helps build the created industry within the city , without these open mics I think that many talents would be hidden as there would be as many opportunity's to find new talents.
